The Alocasia Ninja Aurea is considered a rare and highly collectible plant. It is a variegated form of the Alocasia Ninja (a compact mutation of the Alocasia reginula 'Black Velvet'). Yellow (aurea) variegation is often genetically scarcer and harder to find in aroids compared to white (albo) variegation because of how chlorophyll and carotenoids mutate and stabilize.
